I was born in Toronto, Canada, but moved to the Bay Area at a young age. I attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate education and graduated with honors in Molecular and Cell Biology with a minor in English Literature. I received my medical degree from the Stanford School of Medicine and remained at Stanford for my residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Following residency, I chose to pursue advanced training in head and neck cancer and endocrine surgery at UCSF.
As a board-certified otolaryngologist, I enjoy diagnosing and managing a variety of conditions affecting the head and neck. However, I have a particular interest in endocrine surgery (surgeries involving the thyroid and parathyroid glands) and other head and neck cancer surgeries. The diagnosis of cancer and its subsequent treatment is often a very difficult and trying time in a patient’s life. I feel it is a great honor to care for cancer patients, and it is one that I take on with a strong sense of responsibility. I participate in our regional Head and Neck Interdisciplinary Tumor Board, and work with a great team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, endocrinologists, radiologists and pathologists, all focused on providing the best possible care for our patients.
